Haverhill | £31,000 - £35,000 + retention bonus
12 month contract
If you are highly organised, enjoy keeping multiple moving parts on track and have experience within maintenance planning, coordination or engineering administration, this could be a great next step.
We are recruiting for a Maintenance Controller to join a busy manufacturing environment in Haverhill, taking responsibility for coordinating maintenance activities across the site.
This is a role where you will be right at the centre of things, working closely with Maintenance, Operations and external contractors to make sure planned and reactive maintenance is properly scheduled, resourced, documented and completed.
This would suit somebody who enjoys bringing structure to a busy maintenance environment and wants a role where their organisation and coordination genuinely make a difference to how efficiently the site operates.
What you will be doing:
* Managing short-term maintenance planning across a 0-4 week window
* Developing and communicating weekly maintenance schedules
* Coordinating preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime
* Coordinating reactive maintenance following equipment breakdowns or system failures
* Monitoring maintenance backlogs and prioritising work based on operational requirements and equipment criticality
* Ensuring the right labour, parts, tools and contractor support are available
* Chairing weekly maintenance planning meetings and communicating agreed priorities
* Tracking planned work and providing updates on completion and schedule adherence
* Maintaining maintenance activities and records within the CMMS
* Raising Purchase Orders and processing GRNs and contractor invoices through SAP
* Supporting CMMS users and providing training where required
* Ensuring maintenance documentation is accurate, complete and compliant
* Supporting maintenance KPIs, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
What we need from you:
We are looking for somebody who combines strong organisation and planning skills with an understanding of how maintenance operates within a manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:
* Experience within maintenance planning, maintenance coordination or engineering administration
* A working knowledge of preventative and reactive maintenance
* Experience using SAP PM or another CMMS system
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities
* Confident communication skills, with the ability to work across different teams and external contractors
* Good Microsoft Office skills
* An understanding of cGMP and controlled documentation practices
* GCSE Maths and English, alongside an NVQ Level 2 in Administration, BTEC Business Studies or equivalent/higher qualification
Experience within pharmaceutical, FMCG, food manufacturing or another regulated environment would be particularly useful.
