How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Duration: 6 months

    Location: Sunderland, 3 days per week onsite

    Basis: Outside IR35

    Rate: DOE

    Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a background in delivering cloud and data centre migrations, whilst securing key vulnerabilities? Are you technically strong with hands on experience of Azure, Windows Server and IaC? If so, apply now.

    The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will join a dynamic team at a time of major modernisation and transformation, with responsibility for providing hands-on technical support to drive the cloud and data centre migration activities.

    This will include:

    Supporting migration of datacentre-hosted workloads into Azure, assisting with planning, build, testing and production cutover activities
    Support landing zone, networking and infrastructure configuration
    Assist with application and server migration activities
    Support supplier engagement and technical validation activities.
    Review and remediation of high-priority vulnerabilities identified through pen testing activity
    Implement remediation activities across server and infrastructure platforms
    Validate controls through testing and evidence collection

    The successful Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will have the following skills:

    Azure Cloud (IaaS/PaaS, networking, identity, monitoring).
    Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform, ARM, PowerShell automation.
    Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Group Policy.
    Backup and restore Solutions e.g. Veeam, CommVault.
    SQL Server, Azure SQL, backups, HA/DR.
    Monitoring: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, SolarWinds.

    The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will initially join for a period of 6 months to actively participate in the cloud and data centre migration activity, and there is the possibility of extension.
