How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Role

    As a Teacher of SEN, you will join a highly supportive SEN team, teaching and inspiring a small class of pupils with Autism, communication challenges, and moderate learning difficulties. You will be responsible for delivering tailored, engaging lessons that nurture confidence, social skills, and independence among your students.

    This role will suit someone who thrives on adapting learning, enjoys building positive relationships, and is committed to inclusive teaching in a specialist setting.

    Role Responsibilities

    Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons matching the individual needs of pupils
    Support pupils with Autism, communication needs, and other additional learning requirements
    Monitor pupil progress and adapt learning to reflect each student's EHCP targets
    Work closely with experienced Teaching Assistants and therapists across the school
    Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and a sense of achievement in every child 

    Skills and Experience

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
    Minimum of 6 months' experience teaching in a UK SEN setting
    Proven experience supporting pupils with Autism and communication needs
    Enhanced Child or Child & Adult DBS (or willingness to obtain)
    Ability to provide references covering the previous 24 months 

    Location and Package

    Based in Handsworth, easily accessible by public transport and car
    Competitive daily pay: £140 – £253 per day
    Contract role starting from September 2026
