How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEND Teaching Assistant – Aston

Join a specialist SEND college in Aston as an SEN Teaching Assistant from September 2026 and make a real difference for learners aged 14–25.     The Role

    As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

    Deliver high-quality 1:1, 2:1 and small group support
    Enable students with additional and complex needs to access learning and develop functional, social, and life skills
    Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, social skills and emotional regulation
    Support the implementation of EHCP targets and individual support plans
    Adapt learning and classroom resources to meet individual student needs
    Monitor progress, keep clear records, and contribute to regular reviews
    Promote inclusion, engagement and positive behaviour
    Support students to develop independence, confidence, and key life skills
    Work closely and collaboratively with teachers and SEND professionals 

    Skills and Experience

    At least 2 years’ experience working in a UK school or college
    Background as an SEN Teaching Assistant supporting students with SEND and complex needs
    Proven ability to provide 1:1, 2:1 and small group support, as well as targeted interventions
    Understanding of EHCPs and individual support plans
    Knowledge of adapting learning materials to individual needs
    Relevant Level 2 qualification (or equivalent experience)
    GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent)
    Strong communication and record-keeping skills
    Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) 

    It would also be desirable if you have training or experience supporting Autism, SEMH, speech and language or behaviour needs, as well as experience supporting students with EHCPs, independence, or functional/life skills.

    Location and Package

    Location: Aston
    Contract: Long-term, part-time (Monday–Thursday, 8:30am–3:00pm, 26 hours per week)
    Hourly pay: £14.62 – £16.84
    Start date: September 2026
