Lead, develop and mentor the Data Science team, building a high-performing function that delivers measurable business impact.
Define and execute the Data Science strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and commercial priorities.
Drive the delivery of data science products and solutions from concept through to implementation and adoption.
Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities where data science can solve problems, improve performance and create value.
Lead cross-functional teams, bringing together data, technology, operations and business stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
Remove project barriers and delivery bottlenecks, ensuring initiatives are prioritised effectively and executed at pace.
Establish scalable operating models, governance frameworks and ways of working that improve productivity, quality and delivery.
Manage stakeholder relationships, resource planning and team growth, ensuring the Data Science function remains a trusted partner to the wider business.Profile
Head of Data Science
A successful Head of Data Science should have:
Proven experience leading and developing high-performing Data Science teams within a commercial environment.
Strong track record of delivering data science, machine learning, and analytics solutions that generate measurable business value.
Demonstrated ability to take products and projects from concept through to implementation, adoption, and ongoing optimisation.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leaders and collaborating across business, technology, and operational teams.
Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to prioritise initiatives based on business impact, return on investment, and strategic objectives.
Experience building Data Science capabilities, operating models, and scalable ways of working within growing organisations.
Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proven ability to remove obstacles and drive projects to successful delivery.
