How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Project Manager – Decarbonisation / Renewables - East London

    We are working with a well-respected and growing renewables and decarbonisation contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager for a major decarbonisation project in East London.

    The company operates as the Main Contractor, working directly with the end client, and has developed a strong reputation for delivering complex mechanical, energy efficiency, retrofit and low-carbon projects.

    The successful Mechanical Project Manager will take responsibility for the delivery of approximately £9m of mechanical works, managing the project from procurement and mobilisation through installation, commissioning and final handover.

    This is a long-term opportunity with a growing contractor that can offer either a permanent position or freelance contract, alongside excellent progression opportunities and a strong pipeline of future work.

    Mechanical Project Manager Responsibilities

    * Take overall responsibility for the delivery of circa £9m of mechanical works

    * Manage the project from procurement and mobilisation through to completion

    * Oversee mechanical installation works and site delivery

    * Manage mechanical subcontractors, specialist contractors and suppliers

    * Coordinate site teams and ensure works are delivered to programme

    * Liaise directly with the end client, consultants and project stakeholders

    * Review mechanical designs, drawings and technical submissions

    * Manage procurement of mechanical plant, equipment and materials

    * Monitor project programmes, milestones and progress

    * Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, BMS and controls packages

    * Ensure installations meet required quality and technical standards

    * Manage testing, commissioning, snagging and handover

    * Identify and resolve technical and programme issues

    * Ensure health & safety requirements are maintained throughout delivery

    * Provide regular progress reports to senior management and the client

    Mechanical Project Manager Requirements

    * Previous experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within M&E / Building Services

    * Strong mechanical building services knowledge

    * Experience delivering sizeable mechanical packages

    * Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to handover

    * Strong understanding of HVAC, heating, pipework and mechanical plant

    * Experience managing subcontractors and site teams

    * Strong programme and commercial awareness

    * Confident client-facing and stakeholder management skills

    * Decarbonisation, retrofit, energy efficiency or renewables experience would be advantageous

    * Experience with heat pumps, low-carbon heating or energy upgrade projects would be beneficial
