How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator

    £17.00-£18.00 per hour (DOE)
    4-Day Working Week – Monday to Thursday
    Friday Off | Permanent

    This is a permanent position offering a 4-day working week, with every Friday off. The company is flexible on controls experience. Ideally, you will have experience programming CNC milling machines using Heidenhain, although experienced programmers from other control systems, including Fanuc, will also be considered and training can be provided.

    Candidates with strong CAD/CAM programming experience will also be advantagoues. All CADCAM software experience welcome crossover training can be provided.

    CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator The Role

    * Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines

    * Producing precision components from engineering drawings

    * Creating and editing CNC programs

    * Setting tooling, workholding and machining parameters

    * Carrying out first-off checks and ensuring components meet specification

    * Working accurately to engineering drawings and tight tolerances

    * Identifying and resolving machining or programming issues

    * Maintaining high standards of quality throughout production

    CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator What We’re Looking For

    * Previous experience working as a CNC Miller

    * Must be able to competently program CNC milling machines

    * Heidenhain programming experience would be highly advantageous

    * Fanuc or other CNC programming experience will also be considered

    * Alternatively, candidates with strong CAD/CAM programming experience will be considered

    * Ability to set and operate CNC milling machines

    * Confident working independently from engineering drawings

    * Good understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds and machining processes

    * Strong attention to detail

    Heidenhain experience is advantageous however– if you are already a competent CNC programmer, training can be provided on the company’s controls and OneCNC CAD/CAM system.

    * £17.00-£18.00 per hour

    * 4-day working week

    * Monday to Thursday, 7:15am – 4:45pm

    * Every Friday off

    * Permanent position
