How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Water Treatment Engineer

    We are recruiting for an experienced Water Treatment Engineer to join a long-established and growing water treatment business covering the North West.

    This is a varied field-based position working across both commercial and domestic environments, with a particular focus on commercial wet leisure facilities including swimming pools, spas, hot tubs and saunas.

    You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and installing water treatment and wet leisure equipment, responding to breakdowns and providing technical support to customers.

    The role will also involve working with private water treatment systems and UV equipment, carrying out water sampling, tank cleaning and pipework disinfection.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Water Treatment Engineer looking for a permanent position offering a varied workload, further specialist training and long-term development.

    The Role

    As a Water Treatment Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

    Carrying out servicing and maintenance of commercial wet leisure facilities.
    Servicing and maintaining swimming pool, spa, hot tub and sauna equipment.
    Maintaining dosing systems, pumps and filtration equipment.
    Diagnosing faults and responding to emergency repairs.
    Installing and maintaining water treatment equipment.
    Installing and servicing Ultraviolet (UV) water treatment systems.
    Supporting customers with private water supplies and associated treatment systems.
    Carrying out water sampling for onward microbiological analysis.
    Cleaning and disinfecting water storage tanks.
    Carrying out pipework disinfection in accordance with relevant British Standards.
    Providing technical support to commercial and domestic customers.
    Ensuring work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards and current guidelines.
    Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and site personnel.
    Representing the business professionally while working at customer sites.
    Completing occasional travel to other areas of the UK when required.

    What We're Looking For

    To be considered for this Water Treatment Engineer position, you will ideally have:

    Previous experience within water treatment, wet leisure, swimming pools or a closely related industry.
    Experience servicing and maintaining water treatment equipment.
    Knowledge of pumps, filtration and chemical dosing systems.
    Experience working with swimming pools, spas or other wet leisure facilities would be highly advantageous.
    Knowledge of UV water treatment systems would be beneficial.
    Experience with tank cleaning and pipework disinfection would be advantageous.
    A good understanding of relevant water treatment industry standards and regulations.
    Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
    Good practical and technical skills.
    Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
    A strong work ethic and professional approach.
    Flexibility to undertake occasional weekend emergency call-outs and UK travel when required.
    A full and valid UK driving licence.
