How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Construction Project Manager

    We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to join a well-established and growing built-environment, property and construction consultancy, working out of the Southampton office.

    This is a client-side focused Construction Project Management position, working across a varied portfolio of construction projects throughout the UK. You will be responsible for managing projects from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with clients, design teams, contractors and other key stakeholders.

    The role would suit an experienced Project Manager with a background in construction consultancy and/or client-side project management who is looking for a varied position with excellent opportunities for long-term career development.

    The Role

    As a Construction Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

    Managing the day-to-day delivery of construction projects
    Managing projects through pre-construction and post-construction stages
    Coordinating and managing design teams
    Acting as a key point of contact for clients
    Managing client accounts and maintaining strong working relationships
    Managing contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders
    Carrying out contract administration
    Preparing and maintaining key project documentation and processes
    Monitoring project programmes and ensuring key deadlines are achieved
    Providing regular progress reports and updates to clients
    Identifying and managing project risks
    Contributing to value management and value engineering exercises
    Managing projects involving multiple stakeholders
    Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
    Ensuring projects are delivered to the required quality, timescale and client expectationsWhat We're Looking For

    You should have previous Project Management experience within the construction industry, ideally gained within a consultancy or client-side environment.

    Ideally, you will have:

    Previous experience in a Construction Project Manager or similar position
    Experience working within a construction/property consultancy and/or client-side organisation
    Strong knowledge of pre-construction and post-construction project delivery
    Experience administering construction contracts
    Experience managing design teams, contractors and consultants
    Strong client-facing experience
    Experience within commercial, retail and/or leisure construction
    Experience working within multi-stakeholder environments
    Experience managing or mentoring junior members of staff
    Strong communication and relationship-building skills
    Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
    Good commercial awareness
    Strong organisational and time-management skills
    Higher education qualification
    A degree in Construction Management or a related discipline would be advantageous but is not essential
    Strong IT skills, including Microsoft OfficeWhat's On Offer?
