How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Unqualified Maths Teacher - Northampton

    Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Supply with Potential for Permanent
    Salary: £100-£165 per day, depending on experience and school requirements

    Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in Northampton that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Unqualified Maths Teacher from September 2026.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Maths graduate, aspiring teacher, tutor, teaching assistant, or someone with strong subject knowledge who is ready to take the next step towards a career in education.

    The role offers the chance to work within a supportive school environment, gain practical teaching experience, and receive guidance from experienced teachers and school leaders.

    The Role

    Deliver engaging and well-structured Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, using school-provided resources and lesson plans.
    Support students in developing their mathematical understanding, confidence, fluency, and problem-solving skills.
    Establish a positive, calm, and purposeful classroom environment.
    Adapt your approach to meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning needs.
    Provide support and encouragement to students to help them make progress.
    Work alongside experienced teachers and colleagues to develop your classroom practice.
    Support pupils with revision, intervention, and wider Maths activities where appropriate.
    Contribute positively to the wider school community and take advantage of professional development opportunities.

    What We're Looking For

    A degree in Mathematics or a related subject, or strong demonstrable knowledge of Mathematics.
    Experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, or similar settings would be advantageous.
    Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
    A reliable, proactive, and adaptable approach.
    The confidence to lead a classroom and maintain positive behaviour.
    A genuine interest in education and a desire to develop towards a teaching career.
    An interest in routes into teaching such as PGCE, SCITT, or school-based teacher training.
    An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
