How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior FP&A Analyst

    £55K - £60K

    Newcastle

Are you a qualified finance professional looking for a broader FP&A role with real exposure to planning, performance and investment decisions?

I am working with a complex global organisation looking for an experienced Senior FP&A Analyst to join its Group Finance team.

This is a diverse role covering budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and investment planning, with the opportunity to work closely with senior finance and operational stakeholders across a complex and growing organisation.

You'll play a key role in helping the business understand performance, challenge assumptions and make better financial decisions.

    What you'll be doing:

Supporting budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning across the organisation.
Producing and analysing monthly financial performance against budget and forecast.
Investigating variances, identifying key drivers and highlighting emerging risks and opportunities.
Supporting financial planning across both Opex and Capex expenditure.
Reviewing investment proposals and challenging assumptions behind business cases.
Building and maintaining financial models to support planning and decision-making.
Consolidating financial information from different areas of the organisation and turning it into clear management insight.
Producing dashboards, reports and analysis for senior finance and operational stakeholders.
Working closely with teams across Operations, Procurement, Property, Infrastructure and wider Finance.
Supporting ad-hoc commercial analysis and strategic finance projects.
Helping improve the quality, consistency and accuracy of forecasting and financial information.

    What we're looking for:

We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience across FP&A, commercial finance, management accounting or finance business partnering.

You should be comfortable working with complex financial information, understanding what is driving performance and confidently challenging stakeholders where required.

    You'll ideally bring:

Strong experience across budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
Excellent variance analysis and management reporting capability.
A strong accounting background and understanding of financial statements.
Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
Experience working with senior finance and operational stakeholders.
The confidence to challenge assumptions and investigate financial performance.
Experience analysing business cases, investment decisions or Capex would be beneficial.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly.
A commercial mindset and the ability to turn financial analysis into practical recommendations.

    Why consider this role?

This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to build on a solid accounting foundation and move further into commercially focused FP&A.

You'll join an established finance function with exposure to both core planning activity and significant operational and investment decisions.

For someone looking to broaden their influence and develop towards FP&A management, finance business partnering or wider commercial finance leadership, this offers significantly more than a traditional reporting role.

    This role offers:

Broad exposure across Group FP&A and financial planning.
Significant interaction with senior finance and operational stakeholders.
Exposure to major investment and Capex activity.
A varied mix of forecasting, analysis, modelling and business partnering.
The opportunity to work across a complex, global organisation.
Strong scope for longer-term development and progression.
