How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Who we are

Founded in Sheffield in 2004, CHG Electrical has more than two decades of engineering heritage. Built on strong electrical engineering foundations, the business has evolved into a multidisciplinary engineering partner delivering complex projects across water utilities, rail, steel and manufacturing.

Today, our capabilities span MEICA, EICAT, civil engineering, control-panel design and manufacture, automation, software and digital transformation. We support projects from initial design through installation and commissioning to long-term maintenance, combining practical, hands-on engineering experience with modern technology and intelligent thinking.

Throughout that evolution, the principles behind CHG have remained consistent: technical excellence, exceptional quality, safe delivery and trusted long-term relationships. It’s this proven heritage, combined with our ambition to keep innovating, that enables us to deliver reliable, future-ready solutions for some of the UK’s most important infrastructure.

    The Opportunity

This is a hands-on electrical installation role offering plenty of variety.

While much of our work is within the water industry across clean and wastewater environments, you'll also have opportunities to work across steel, commercial installations and industrial warehouse fit-outs.

You'll undertake all aspects of industrial and commercial electrical installation, working with everything from containment and cabling through to MCCs, machinery, pumps, lighting and power.

There will also be opportunities to work away, earn overtime and take on weekend work, alongside ongoing development as your experience grows.

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Installing containment systems including ladder and tray.
    • Cabling, glanding and terminating.
    • Working with single and three-phase equipment.
    • Working with Motor Control Centres, machinery and pumps.
    • Lighting and power installations.
    • Working across AC and DC voltage systems.
    • Electrical testing where appropriately qualified.
    • Delivering industrial and commercial electrical installations across varied client sites.
    • Maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship and professionalism on every project.

    About You

You'll be a qualified, experienced Electrician who is comfortable working across industrial and commercial environments and happy with a role that involves travel and varied project locations.

    Essential:

    • Approved Electrician - JIB / ECS.
    • Experience within industrial and commercial electrical installation.
    • IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations - City & Guilds 2382.
    • CCSNG or equivalent.
    • Driving licence.
    • Comfortable travelling to project sites and working away when required.

    Great to Have:

    • Previous experience within the water industry, particularly clean or wastewater environments.
    • Inspection and Testing experience/qualification.

    What We Offer

    • £19.00 - £21.00 per hour.
    • Opportunities for overtime and weekend work.
    • UK project work with opportunities to work away.
    • Company van.
    • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
    • Employee reward scheme.
    • Gym membership.
    • Exposure to multiple sectors and varied projects.
    • Opportunities for personal growth, training and development within a growing business.

    Ready to Get Stuck In?

If you're an Approved Electrician who enjoys industrial work, varied projects and being part of a team that takes pride in doing the job properly, we'd love to hear from you.
