How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Electrical Engineering | MEICA / EICA | Water & Wastewater | Project Delivery | Technical Leadership

Want more than simply inheriting somebody else's projects and processes?

Join a growing business where you can genuinely influence how projects are delivered, how standards are set and how a new delivery team develops around you.

We're looking for a proactive, technically strong Electrical Project Manager with complementary mechanical understanding to help drive the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of MEICA projects across the water sector.

You'll be the first engineer in a newly formed delivery team, giving you genuine autonomy to shape processes, influence best practice and establish yourself as a key technical lead as the department grows.

If you know your way around electrical project delivery, understand how electrical, ICA and mechanical systems come together, and want an opportunity with serious room to develop, we'd love to talk.

    The Role at a Glance

    Electrical Project Manager
    Yorkshire Based
    Competitive Salary DOE

    Knowledge: WIMES | CDM | RAMS | Permits | HSE | Commissioning
    Essential: Full UK Driving Licence

    Who we are

Founded in Sheffield in 2004, CHG Electrical has more than two decades of engineering heritage. Built on strong electrical engineering foundations, the business has evolved into a multidisciplinary engineering partner delivering complex projects across water utilities, rail, steel and manufacturing.

Today, our capabilities span MEICA, EICAT, civil engineering, control-panel design and manufacture, automation, software and digital transformation. We support projects from initial design through installation and commissioning to long-term maintenance, combining practical, hands-on engineering experience with modern technology and intelligent thinking.

Throughout that evolution, the principles behind CHG have remained consistent: technical excellence, exceptional quality, safe delivery and trusted long-term relationships. It’s this proven heritage, combined with our ambition to keep innovating, that enables us to deliver reliable, future-ready solutions for some of the UK’s most important infrastructure.

    The Opportunity

You'll work closely with design and operations, site teams and clients to support projects throughout the full lifecycle, from planning and installation through to inspection, testing, commissioning and handover.

It's a varied role combining technical understanding with hands-on project leadership.

You'll oversee day-to-day delivery across multiple water and wastewater sites, coordinate people and resources, work directly with clients and ensure projects remain safe, compliant and on track.

Crucially, you're not joining a finished department.

As the first engineer within this new delivery team, you'll have the opportunity to influence processes, technical standards and ways of working from the outset, with excellent scope to grow into a more senior engineering or project leadership position as the team expands.

    Where You'll Make an Impact

    Lead Successful MEICA Delivery

    • Oversee day-to-day MEICA project delivery across multiple water and wastewater sites.
    • Coordinate project resources, site teams, subcontractors and materials to keep works moving safely and efficiently.
    • Monitor programmes, budgets, variations, risks and changing resource requirements.

    Ensure Technical Excellence

    • Review electrical and mechanical drawings, work packs and RAMS for buildability, feasibility and alignment with project scope.
    • Work closely with the Design Manager to resolve technical queries and maintain compliant delivery.
    • Oversee isolations, energisation and reinstatement, ensuring works meet WIMES and client-specific standards.

    Keep Clients and Projects Aligned

    • Attend Client Progress Team meetings and build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and commercial leads.
    • Provide clear progress updates, proactively highlighting risks, programme changes and delivery challenges.
    • Maintain accurate permits, inspection records, redlines, site documentation and as-built information.

    Deliver Safely Through to Handover

    • Support inspection, testing, commissioning and successful project handover.
    • Champion exceptional health, safety, environmental and quality standards across every site.
    • Lead by example through audits, toolbox talks and continuous improvement initiatives.

    About You

You'll bring a strong electrical engineering background, ideally developed within MEICA, EICA, water, wastewater or a similarly complex engineering environment.

Importantly, while electrical is your core discipline, you'll understand the mechanical side too and be comfortable looking at the project as a whole rather than working within a narrow technical silo.

    You'll bring:

    • Strong electrical engineering and project delivery experience.
    • Ideally, experience within MEICA / EICA environments.
    • Good working knowledge of mechanical equipment and its interface with electrical and ICA systems.
    • Experience with LV systems, MCCs, ICA equipment, pumps, valves and process assets.
    • The ability to interpret engineering drawings and ensure works are delivered to specification.
    • Working knowledge of CDM regulations, permits, temporary works and construction site procedures.
    • Confidence coordinating teams, subcontractors and resources across live projects.
    • Strong communication and practical problem-solving skills.
    • The ability to build credible relationships with clients, operational teams and technical stakeholders.
    • A proactive approach to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
    • Full UK driving licence.

    Why CHG Electrical?

This is an opportunity to join a growing organisation at a particularly exciting point in its development.

Rather than stepping into an established hierarchy, you'll become the first engineer in a new delivery team, with the chance to help shape its processes, culture and technical direction.

You'll have autonomy, responsibility and exposure across the full project lifecycle, backed by ongoing CPD and industry training to continue developing your expertise.

    You'll also receive:

    • Competitive Salary DOE
    • Company vehicle or allowance plus fuel card.
    • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
    • Flexitime.
    • Gym membership.
    • Ongoing CPD and branded industry training.
    • Clear long-term career development as the team expands.
    • A supportive, forward-thinking environment within a growing business.

    Ready to Build Something?

If you're an electrically biased engineering professional who understands MEICA project delivery and you're ready for greater ownership, influence and long-term progression, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now and help shape the next chapter at CHG Electrical Ltd.
