How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Supply Teacher - Chesham, Buckinghamshire
    Secondary Supply | KS3/KS4 | Flexible Teaching | English, Maths & Science Specialists

    Secondary supply teaching opportunities covering KS3 and KS4, particularly suited to teachers with English, Maths or Science experience seeking flexible work.

    Tradewind is recruiting a Supply Teacher to work across Secondary Academy settings in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, covering KS3 and KS4 lessons. Teachers with experience in core subjects including English, Mathematics or Science are particularly encouraged to apply.

    The schools we work with may require cover for:

    Short-term staff absence
    Planned teacher absence

    Core subject teaching across KS3 and KS4

    What you could be teaching

    The Supply Teacher will be expected to follow the school's existing lesson plans and maintain the classroom expectations established by the academy.

    Core subject specialists are particularly useful, with opportunities potentially available for teachers experienced in:

    English
    Mathematics
    ScienceYou may also be asked to supervise lessons outside your main subject where appropriate, with lesson resources provided by the school.

    What you need

    To work as a secondary supply teacher, you should have:

    QTS or recognised equivalent teaching qualification
    Recent secondary teaching experience
    KS3 and/or KS4 experience
    Strong classroom management
    The ability to adapt quickly to different schools and classes
    Good communication and organisation
    An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to complete the necessary checks
