How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Credit Controller - Plymouth

    Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking for your next step within a growing and established organisation?

    We are currently supporting a successful and expanding business with the appointment of a Senior Credit Controller to join their finance team in Plymouth.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to take greater ownership of the credit control function, manage an aged debt ledger and support a small team.

    What You'll Be Doing

    āœ” Managing and monitoring the aged debt ledger, ensuring outstanding balances are recovered promptly

    āœ” Taking ownership of debt recovery and cash collection across the business

    āœ” Building strong relationships with customers and resolving payment queries

    āœ” Liaising with finance and operational teams to resolve account and invoice queries

    āœ” Assisting with payment allocations and bank reconciliations

    āœ” Uploading invoices to customer portals

    āœ” Producing accurate credit control reports and providing updates on outstanding debt

    āœ” Supporting the wider finance team with day-to-day activities where required

    āœ” Helping to improve credit control processes and cash collection performance

    What We're Looking For

    šŸ’” Previous experience working within a Credit Controller or Senior Credit Controller position

    šŸ’” At least 3 years' experience within credit control

    šŸ’” Strong knowledge of credit control processes, aged debt and cash collection

    šŸ’” Excellent communication skills with the confidence to deal with challenging customer conversations

    šŸ’” Strong attention to detail and accuracy when dealing with financial information

    šŸ’” Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Office

    šŸ’” Good relationship-building skills and a customer-focused approach

    šŸ’” Previous experience managing, supervising or mentoring junior colleagues would be advantageous

    šŸ’” AAT or relevant finance qualification is desirable
