How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The business sources its product internationally and has developed strong relationships across its supplier, manufacturing and wholesale network. Supported by an experienced team, it has created a successful business with a well-established position in its key markets.

They are now looking to appoint a Managing Director who can build on these foundations and shape its future direction.

    Managing Director – The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead of an established international business and play a pivotal role in shaping its next stage of growth. The Managing Director will have overall responsibility for the performance and future direction of the business, combining commercial ambition with effective day-to-day leadership.

Working closely with the Board and senior team, they will identify opportunities to grow revenues, strengthen market position and ensure the business is well equipped to achieve its longer-term ambitions.

A key focus will be maximising opportunities across the company’s international wholesale markets while maintaining an efficient and commercially effective sourcing and supply chain operation. The Managing Director will also create the structure, accountability and culture needed to support continued growth.

    Managing Director – Key Responsibilities:

    - Drive international sales growth, expanding the business through new customer acquisition, increased market penetration and development of existing wholesale accounts

    - Own the international sourcing strategy, ensuring strong supplier and manufacturing relationships

    - Build the capability of the wider team through effective leadership, coaching and development, establishing clear responsibilities, strengthening performance and developing future leaders within the business

    - Partner with the Board to set the strategic direction of the business, translating long-term ambitions into clear commercial priorities while maintaining strong financial and operational performance

    Managing Director – You:

    - A strong track record of growing international sales, with direct experience of developing wholesale business across European and North American markets

    - Significant experience of sourcing and importing products internationally, including managing overseas suppliers, manufacturing relationships and complex supply chains

    - An experienced senior leader who has successfully managed and developed multi-functional teams, building capability, accountability and a strong performance culture

    - Commercially astute and financially confident, with experience of running a product-based, wholesale or distribution business and making decisions that balance revenue growth, margin and operational performance

    Managing Director – Benefits:

    - High profile leadership position offering the scope to make a visible impact across customers, markets, operations and people

    - Ongoing personal and professional development, including executive coaching, leadership development and exposure to board-level strategic decision making

    - Excellent package including structured bonus, company car and private healthcare
