How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Business Development Executive – Construction Sector
    Andover
    Full-Time
    Permanent

    Are you confident on the phone, commercially driven and motivated by building lasting customer relationships? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Executive to join a successful construction supply business with an established and growing customer base.

    This Business Development Executive role combines new business development with account management and customer retention. You'll identify and qualify new opportunities while nurturing existing customers, increasing their spend and helping them progress through the business's customer tiers. You will play a critical role in driving growth and maintaining strong customer relationships across the regions.

    As a Business Development Executive, you'll be responsible for keeping prospects engaged, following up opportunities and preventing customer churn. It's a role that rewards persistence, organisation and a genuine focus on delivering value to customers.

    Key Responsibilities

    Make outbound calls to qualify prospects and arrange appointments
    Build and maintain a clear pipeline with defined next steps
    Manage a portfolio of existing accounts and develop customer spend
    Follow up quotations and identify additional sales opportunities
    Monitor accounts at risk of lapsing and implement retention activity
    Build strong relationships with prospects and existing customers
    Monitor competitor activity and identify regional growth opportunities
    Maintain accurate CRM records and produce performance reports
    Skills & Experience

    Confident making outbound calls and handling objections
    Tenacious and persistent approach to achieving objectives
    Strong commercial awareness and customer focus
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Highly organised with good prioritisation skills
    Able to manage multiple opportunities and follow-ups
    Accurate when maintaining CRM records and reporting information
    Proactive approach with the drive to achieve acquisition and retention targets
    Salary
    £28,000 - £32,000 basic + Commission structure

    Hours
    Office hours Monday to Friday (earlier starts available due to nature of business)
    May be able to offer an element of hybrid work if competent
