How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Operations Manager - Building Safety, Cladding & Remediation Projects

Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our business in a critical leadership position overseeing projects across the North of England.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an operational leader who thrives in a structured, professional environment and has experience delivering projects within Tier 1 construction, building safety, remediation or specialist contracting sectors.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will play a key role in leading project delivery, managing operational performance, enhancing client relationships and driving programme success across multiple projects.

    About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will take ownership of operational planning, resource management, programme delivery and client engagement across a portfolio of projects focused on:

    Building Safety Act compliance projects
    Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs)
    Cladding remediation schemes
    Façade replacement projects
    Building safety upgrades
    Refurbishment and remediation works
You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, compliantly and profitably whilst maintaining exceptional client service standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Operational Leadership

Own operational planning, resourcing, scheduling and productivity across projects.
Manage and coordinate direct labour and subcontractor resources.
Drive programme milestones and project performance.
Lead defect resolution and project handovers.
Monitor operational KPIs and implement performance improvements.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

    Client & Contract Management

Act as the primary operational interface with clients.
Attend contract review, performance review and governance meetings.
Lead contract management activities under NEC4 contracts.
Manage scope changes and contractual variations.
Ensure operational compliance with all contractual obligations.

    Building Safety & Compliance

Support the delivery of projects within the framework of the Building Safety Act 2022.
Oversee works on Higher-Risk Buildings (7+ storeys).
Ensure robust management of building safety compliance requirements.
Maintain accurate project records and documentation.

    Team Management

Provide clear leadership and direction to the operations team.
    Manage and develop direct reports.
Promote strong communication between project teams, clients and stakeholders.
Foster a collaborative and performance-focused culture.

    Supply Chain Management

    Manage subcontractor performance and compliance.
Ensure supply chain partners are appropriately vetted and monitored.
Hold subcontractors accountable to the same standards expected of direct employees.
Build strong relationships with key suppliers and delivery partners.

    What We're Looking For

    Essential Experience

Proven Operations Management experience within construction, remediation or specialist contracting.
Background working within a Tier 1 or highly structured contractor environment.
    Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts.
Experience delivering projects involving Building Safety legislation.
    Experience managing Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs).
Excellent planning, resource allocation and programme management capability.
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
High level of IT literacy and confidence using digital management systems.

    The Ideal Candidate

You will be a modern, commercially aware Operations Manager who embraces technology and structured processes rather than relying on outdated management practices.

    You'll possess:

    Strong operational leadership skills.
    Excellent organisational ability.
    Commercial awareness.
    A proactive approach to problem-solving.
    Professional communication skills.
Experience within procedural, corporate construction environments.

    Why Join Us?

This is a business-critical appointment offering the opportunity to influence operational excellence across a growing and highly respected organisation operating within one of the UK's most important construction sectors.

You'll be joining a business that is:

    Experiencing sustained growth.
    Delivering essential building safety projects.
    Committed to operational excellence.
Investing in technology and process improvement.
Focused on long-term career development for its people.

    Salary & Benefits

    £70,000 - £80,000 basic salary.
    Negotiable for exceptional candidates.
    Car allowance.
    Private healthcare.
    Hybrid working arrangement.
    Home working flexibility.
    Clear progression opportunities.
    Permanent, long-term opportunity.
