How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Semi-Skilled Mechanic / Vehicle Technician

    £13.64 per hour + Overtime + Training & Development + 34 Days Holiday + Pension

    Perth (Commutable from: Dundee, Stirling, Crieff, Blairgowrie, Kinross, Auchterarder, Dunblane, Forfar)

    Are you a Semi-Skilled Mechanic / Vehicle Technician looking for overtime, training & development to, progression and a stable, long-term role with a well-established employer?

    Do you enjoy hands-on fault finding and keeping vehicles safe, reliable, and ready to go every day?

    This is a permanent position at a busy depot environment, offering consistent hours, overtime opportunities, and the support to develop your skills on a modern fleet. You'll be properly backed with training, strong benefits, and a team that values doing the job right.

    You'll be joining a major transport organisation known for investing in its people, with clear opportunities to build your experience over time. It's a supportive, inclusive workplace where your work has a visible impact on the local community.

    You'll be based at the Perth depot carrying out servicing, diagnostics, preventative/reactive maintenance and roadside repairs, working to safety and DVSA standards. You will ideally be from a HGV, PSV, REME background, or be a vehicle technician who is highly motivated to learn & develop in this industry.

    This role suits a hands-on mechanic who's motivated by training, development & progression whilst working for an industry leader.

    The Role:

    Servicing and repairing PSV's
    Diagnostics across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults (training provided)
    Sunday - Thursday shift pattern, 45 hours per week
    The Person:

    Hands-on experience servicing/repairing commercial vehicles (bus/coach/truck/HGV/light commercial looking to move into this industry or similar backgrounds considered)
    Confident using diagnostic tools and working from service manuals
    Full UK driving licence
