How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Field Service Engineer - Materials Handling Equipment

    Full‑time | Monday-Friday | £32,000 - £40,000 DOE + Overtime

    Hours of Work I Monday to Friday (Apply online only)

    Location - Bury St Edmonds - Covering Norfolk & Suffolk

    We are proud to be working with a long‑established, family‑run materials handling business who are looking for are looking for experienced Field Service Engineers to join their fast paced and growing equipment solutions business based in the East of England. Equipped with modern, fully fitted service vehicles and equipment, as a field service engineer you will be responsible for the commissioning, maintenance and servicing of equipment and plant machinery in the field ensuring customers receive a professional, efficient and safe service at all times.

    Job Role/Description

    A typical day will consist of the following duties, however you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

    Responsible for commissioning, maintenance and servicing of equipment and plant machinery.
    Repair, maintain, and service forklift trucks
    Repair or replace faulty parts
    Request parts via PDA
    Report to Service Co-ordinator for scheduled work
    Maintain and develop relationships with Customers
    Follow Service Team procedures.
    Adhere to site Health & Safety requirements.

    Skills & Experience

    To be considered for this role, candidates are required to have the following skills and experience.

    Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points
    Previously experience as an FLT Engineer & knowledge of FLT Trucks
    NVQ in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
    Strong numeracy and analytical skills
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Able to work to tight deadlines and have good attention to details
    Flexible, supportive and team‑focused
    Personable, presentable and able to work as part of team
    Can offer an excellent level of Customer Service
    Good attention to detail
