Transparency Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide specialist support for pupils with ASD within a primary school environment in Southwark.
The position would suit an experienced support professional who can combine empathy with structure and enjoys helping pupils develop both academically and socially.
Key responsibilities
Support access to lessons and classroom activities.
Provide focused 1:1 or small-group support where required.
Reinforce communication and learning strategies.
Promote independence and self-confidence.
Support social interaction and emotional regulation.
Help maintain consistent routines.
Liaise closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
Contribute observations to pupil progress discussions.
Candidate profile
You should have:
Previous experience supporting SEND pupils, ideally those with ASD
An understanding of individualised support.
Strong interpersonal skills.
A calm and reliable approach.
Confidence responding appropriately to challenging situations.
A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
Relevant SEND qualifications are welcomed, but practical experience and the right approach are equally important.
