How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A leading facilities management provider is looking for an electrically biased Shift Engineer to join a critical environment in South London.

You'll work alongside a Shift Lead, maintaining critical building systems and supporting reliable site operations. Data centre experience is preferred, although engineers from other critical environments will also be considered.

    The Role

    As the Shift Engineer, you'll:

Maintain critical electrical and building services systems.
Complete planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
Respond to faults, breakdowns and critical engineering issues.
Carry out inspections and ensure systems remain safe and compliant.
Work alongside the Shift Lead to maintain operational resilience.
Support additional shift cover and overtime when required. About You

To be successful as the Shift Engineer, you'll have:

Recognised UK electrical qualifications, ideally City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2.
    18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
Electrical maintenance experience within data centres or critical environments.
Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and building services systems.
HV experience or an existing HV qualification would be advantageous.
A strong understanding of working within business-critical environments. Candidates without HV experience may be considered where they have a strong electrical background and the potential to undertake HV training.

    What's in it for You?

£50,000–£55,000 salary, dependent on experience and HV capability.
Continental shift pattern covering days and nights.
Strong overtime availability through additional shift and holiday cover.
Overtime paid at enhanced rates, including double time on Sundays.
Opportunity to undertake HV training if suitably experienced. You'll work as part of an established shift engineering team, with two engineers covering each shift.
