How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Proposals Coordinator- Dundee

    Responsibilities

    * Prepare and issue quotations in response to client enquiries, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with company pricing policies.

    * Review technical specifications, drawings, and commercial requirements to ensure all bid elements are understood and addressed.

    * Coordinate with internal departments (Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, etc.) to gather necessary information for accurate quote generation.

    * Track and manage the quotation pipeline, ensuring all client requests are logged, followed up, and closed out in a timely manner

    * Liaise with customers to clarify requirements, respond to follow-up questions, and provide updates on quotation status.

    * Ensure compliance with internal procedures for bid preparation, pricing approvals, and document control.

    * Maintain records of quotations, pricing history, and client communications for audit and reference purposes.

    * Monitor quotation deadlines and prioritise workload to meet customer expectations and sales targets

    * Support sales and account management teams by providing accurate, timely, and professional documentation.

    * Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies in the quotation process and suggesting or implementing solutions.

    Requirements

    * Have a technical understanding of mechanical engineering principles.

    * Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

    * Have experience of preparing technical and commercial quotations.

    * Demonstrate great attention to detail and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.

    * Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to source and provide information in a variety of formats.

    * Good knowledge of MS Office, and comfortable with web-based portals

    * Formal college or university qualifications are preferred, but relevant experience is considered potentially acceptable.
