How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Supply Heroes are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Wolverhampton to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants and 1:1 Support Assistants for September 2026.

The school is looking for dependable, caring individuals who can provide consistent, individualised support and help pupils have positive and successful experiences in the classroom.

Whether you already have school-based SEN experience or have supported children in another setting, this could be a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in a rewarding career within education.

Every pupil is unique, so your support will be tailored to their individual needs and the requirements of the school. You may work closely with one pupil, support a small intervention group or help children access learning within the wider classroom.

    Your responsibilities may include:

    * Building a trusting, positive and consistent relationship with pupils with additional needs

    * Supporting children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties and other learning needs

    * Adapting activities and learning materials to suit individual needs

    * Following agreed strategies to encourage engagement, confidence and positive behaviour

    * Helping pupils develop independence, communication and social skills

    * Sharing observations and progress with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals

    * Providing reassurance and encouragement throughout the school day

    * Contributing to a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment

There are full-time and part-time opportunities available, including longer-term placements throughout the academic year.

Supply Heroes are keen to hear from supportive, reliable and compassionate candidates who:

    * Have experience supporting children or young people with additional needs in a school, nursery, care or community setting

    * Have a patient, empathetic and calm approach

    * Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries

    * Are confident following individual support plans and guidance from school staff

    * Are passionate about helping every child feel included and achieve their potential

    * Hold a relevant qualification, although this is desirable rather than essential

Experience with personal care, behaviour support, Makaton, PECS, Team Teach or similar approaches would also be welcomed.

If you're passionate about supporting children and looking for a rewarding role in a Wolverhampton primary school from September 2026, we'd love to hear from you.

    Why Supply Heroes?

    * Excellent rates of pay on PAYE

    * Around the clock support whenever you need it

    * Commitment to a quality of service and safeguarding

    * Support with any interviews and lesson observations

    * Transparency and honesty

    * Exclusive job roles around the West Midlands

If you are interested in this position, please apply now with your CV.
