How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Intermediate Site Engineer – Nationwide Projects

    Head Office: Wakefield
    First Project: Romford, Essex
    Salary: Up to £45,000 + Electric Mercedes Company Car + Bonus
    Employment Type: Permanent (Freelance also considered)
    Start: ASAP

    We are recruiting for an Intermediate Site Engineer to join a growing construction team delivering projects nationwide.

    This is a newly created role within the business and an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer who is confident with setting out and looking to develop their technical experience. The successful candidate will be primarily site-based, with a requirement to attend the Wakefield office approximately one day per week.

    The first project will be based in Romford and involves a large, complex scheme requiring strong technical support and accurate setting out.

    The Role

    * Carrying out accurate setting out and setting out checks

    * Using levels and other surveying equipment

    * Supporting the delivery of complex and technically challenging construction works

    * Liaising with Contract Engineers and the wider site delivery team

    * Providing technical support to site teams and chargehands

    * Monitoring and checking works to ensure they are completed accurately and in line with drawings

    * Supporting and discussing technical aspects of concrete works

    * Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications

    * Working primarily on site, with one day per week at the Wakefield office

    * Travelling to and working on projects nationwide

    About You

    * Ideally 2–5 years' experience since graduating from university

    * Relevant degree or qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline

    * Confident carrying out setting out independently

    * Good understanding of construction methods, particularly concrete works

    * Able to read and interpret technical drawings

    * Strong communication skills and able to liaise with engineers and site teams

    * Happy to travel and work on projects across the UK

    * Ideally based within a commutable distance of Wakefield

    Package

    * Salary up to £45,000, depending on experience

    * Electric Mercedes company car

    * Bonus scheme

    * Permanent position with excellent long-term development opportunities

    * Freelance candidates will also be considered
