How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: Milton Keynes
    Salary: £16.64 per hour, increasing with experience
    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
    Hours: 40 hours per week

    We are looking for a Mechanical Assembly Technician to join an established business within the powered access and MEWP industry.

    This is a hands-on role working on prototype and development machines, assembling mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components and helping bring new products from design through to working machines.

    The Role

    Assemble prototype and development machines.
    Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical assembly.
    Work from engineering drawings and technical instructions.
    Use hand and power tools to complete assembly work.
    Identify and resolve build issues.
    Support engineers with new product development and design changes.
    Provide practical feedback to improve products.
    Assist with testing and development of new equipment.
    Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.

    About You

    We are looking for someone with:

    Previous experience in mechanical assembly, engineering or manufacturing.
    A relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship is preferred.
    Practical experience with mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical systems.
    Ability to read engineering drawings.
    Confident use of hand and power tools.
    Good practical problem-solving skills.
    Strong attention to detail.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Experience within plant, powered access, agricultural machinery, heavy machinery, vehicles or similar engineering environments would be advantageous.
