How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Bracknell (On-Site Working)
    Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 + Bonus & Benefits (Depending on Experience)

    Role Overview:

    Zenovo are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join their client in Bracknell. A suitable candidate will have a strong engineering background with proven experience in new product development, engineering innovation, technical leadership and multidisciplinary product delivery.

    Our client is an established business that supports customers across a variety of industries, with the design, integration, testing and supply of advanced electronic and engineered products.

    In this role, the successful candidate will provide technical and engineering leadership across the complete product development lifecycle, acting as a key technical lead from initial customer requirements and concept development through to design, verification, testing, manufacturing and deployment.

    The Engineering Manager will lead and develop engineering teams, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and work closely with customers, suppliers, senior management and other stakeholders to deliver innovative, commercially viable engineering solutions.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Lead engineering activities across the complete new product development lifecycle, from requirements and concept through design, prototyping, testing and manufacture.

    • Provide technical leadership across mechanical, electronic and systems engineering, ensuring effective multidisciplinary collaboration.

    • Lead, develop and mentor engineering teams, building technical capability and maintaining a high-performing engineering environment.

    • Define project plans, timescales and resources, managing priorities, risks and KPIs to ensure successful project delivery.

    • Work closely with customers, senior management and internal stakeholders to understand requirements, develop solutions and provide technical guidance.

    • Coordinate internal engineering resources and external design, manufacturing and testing partners to deliver projects to agreed technical, commercial, quality and schedule requirements.

    • Oversee product verification, validation and testing, ensuring designs meet performance, safety, EMC, environmental and regulatory requirements.

    • Drive engineering innovation and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, design optimisation, improved manufacturability and enhanced engineering processes.

    Required Skills & Experience:

    • Degree qualified in Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

    • Significant experience in engineering, new product development, product design and technical project delivery, with a strong understanding of the full product lifecycle.

    • Strong multidisciplinary engineering knowledge across mechanical, electronic and systems engineering.

    • Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams, with the ability to mentor, motivate and build technical capability.

    • Demonstrable experience managing engineering projects, including resource planning, technical risk, schedules, KPIs and delivery targets.

    • Experience in product verification, validation, EMC/environmental testing and relevant industry standards, ideally within a regulated environment.

    • Strong stakeholder, commercial and problem-solving skills, including experience with BOM cost analysis, tooling/procurement, design optimisation and continuous improvement
