Senior Design Researcher** (Contract)

Location: London/Hybrid (2 days per week on site)

Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day Rate or Salary is available for suitable candidates

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Design Researcher to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their Savings area. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading research initiatives that influence product development and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct both qualitative and quantitative research to gather insights that inform the design and development of products within the Savings area.
Engage with stakeholders at various levels to understand their needs, challenges, and aspirations, ensuring that research findings are effectively communicated and applied.
Utilise usability testing methodologies to assess product performance and user experience, identifying areas for improvement and enhancement.
Lead strategic research initiatives, focusing on long-term goals and objectives rather than solely on delivery timelines.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to integrate research findings into the product development lifecycle.
Influence and shape decision-making processes through data-driven insights, advocating for user-centred design principles.
Mentor and guide junior researchers and design team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Skills & Experience:

Proven experience as a Design Researcher or in a similar role, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, with the ability to analyse data and translate findings into actionable insights.
Demonstrated experience in usability testing methodologies and their application in enhancing user experiences.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership abilities, with a track record of influencing decision-making across teams.
Strong strategic thinking skills, with the capacity to focus on long-term objectives while managing immediate project requirements.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
