How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electronic Design Engineer

    Tewkesbury

    Permanent

    £38,000 - £50,000

    Electronic Design Engineer required by a leading engineering and technology business, based near Tewkesbury to join their growing team.

    Working alongside a team of experienced engineers, the successful Electronic Design Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, testing, and manufacture of electronic hardware, with a strong focus on PCB design and layout. Working on a wide variety of projects, from concept through to production.

    Main Duties; Electronic Design Engineer

    Design, develop, and support electronic circuits and hardware systems for both new and existing products.
    Create and maintain schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
    Select electronic components and manage associated component libraries and footprints.
    Participate in Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) reviews.
    Support prototype assembly, board bring-up, testing, and validation activities.
    Investigate and resolve hardware issues using laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
    Produce and maintain technical documentation such as schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, and test procedures.
    Liaise with PCB manufacturing and assembly partners to support production activities.
    Work collaboratively throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
    Maintain accurate engineering records, revision control, and project documentation.
    The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Electronic Design Engineer

    Experience using Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
    Multi-layer PCB design experience.
    Understanding of IPC standards and EMC compliance requirements.
    Experience with circuit simulation tools such as SPICE.
    Programming or scripting knowledge in Python, C, C#, or similar languages.
    Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, SVN, or engineering data management platforms.
    Experience of taking products from concept through to manufacture and ongoing support.
