How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lead Conversion Officer

    Department: Marketing & Student Recruitment

    Location: Openshaw

    Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Office Based

    Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

    Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

    Reports To: Marketing / Student Recruitment Manager

    The Role

    The Lead Conversion Officer plays a vital role within the Marketing & Student Recruitment team, managing and converting prospective student leads generated through UKMC's marketing and recruitment activities. The postholder will take ownership of the lead journey from initial enquiry through to application, ensuring prospective students receive timely, relevant, and professional support throughout the process.

    This role requires a confident, proactive, and results-driven individual who can build strong relationships with prospective students, handle inbound and outbound communications, and maximise conversion opportunities through effective engagement across multiple communication channels.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead Management, Sales & Conversion

    • Manage prospective student leads from initial enquiry through to application and, where applicable, enrolment.

    • Respond promptly to new enquiries and conduct outbound calls to prospective students.

    • Understand prospective students' interests, circumstances, career ambitions, and educational goals.

    • Provide clear and accurate information regarding UKMC programmes, entry requirements, funding options, study modes, and the application process.

    • Build rapport and trust with prospective students while promoting the benefits of studying at UKMC.

    • Confidently handle questions, concerns, and objections.

    • Guide prospective students through the application process and explain required documentation.

    • Maintain regular follow-up with prospective students throughout the recruitment journey.

    • Re-engage prospective students who have become inactive or have not completed their application.

    • Work towards agreed lead, application, and enrolment targets.

    Multi-Channel Lead Nurturing & CRM Administration

    • Maintain consistent communication with prospective students through telephone, email, WhatsApp, and other communication platforms.

    • Support lead nurturing campaigns for different audiences, courses, and student intakes.

    • Follow up on leads generated through marketing campaigns, events, outreach activities, and other recruitment channels.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within HubSpot and other CRM systems.

    • Monitor lead pipelines and ensure follow-up activities are completed within agreed timescales.

    • Produce accurate records and reports to support recruitment and conversion activities.

    Knowledge & Experience

    • Previous experience in sales, customer service, recruitment, admissions, business development, or a similar customer-facing role.

    • Experience handling telephone enquiries and conducting outbound calls.

    • Experience using HubSpot or other CRM and lead management systems.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to build rapport and establish trust quickly.

    • Strong organisation and follow-up skills.

    • Experience working towards targets and measurable outcomes.

    • Good attention to detail and record-keeping skills.

    • Competent in Microsoft Office applications and communication systems.

    • Experience within higher education, further education, or student recruitment would be advantageous.

    • Knowledge of UK higher education and student recruitment processes is desirable.
