We are looking for an experienced SMT Operator to join a busy and growing team. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for setting up and operating SMT equipment, supporting the production of high-quality PCB assemblies. The successful candidate will have previous experience within an SMT environment and a good understanding of the full SMT assembly process.
SMT Operator Roles and Responsibilities:
* Loading and setting up feeders for production
* Setting up and loading PCBs for the production line
* Setting up and operating paste stencil equipment
* Creating and selecting programmes for production
* Loading stencils and setting up existing programmes
* Processing production jobs and cleaning stencils and associated tooling
* Setting up and operating SMT machines
* Creating machine programmes and carrying out job changeovers
* Running production jobs and ensuring machines are set up correctly
* Stripping down machines after production and returning components to kits in the correct order
* Operating the reflow oven to produce assembled PCBs
* Following work instructions and build documentation at all times
* Maintaining high standards of quality throughout the production process
SMT Operator Ideal Candidate:
* At least 2 years' experience in a similar SMT role
* Good knowledge of PCB-level SMT component assembly
* A basic understanding of PCB technologies
* Good knowledge of SMT assembly processes
* Experience reading and following work and build instructions
* Experience working to IPC-A-610 standards would be an advantage
* An understanding of Moisture Sensitivity Levels (MSL)
* Good IT skills, including experience using machine control and programming software
* The ability to learn new systems and software when required
SMT Operator Working Hours and Benefits:
* Monday – Friday, 07:30 to 16:00 37.5 hours per week
