How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Description:

    Quantity Surveyor

    Leeds | £60,000–£65,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + 25 Days' Holiday + Bank Holidays

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established and growing construction business at their Leeds office, which acts as their UK base of operations.

    The business has an established reputation for delivering high-quality commercial construction, refurbishment, fit-out and Design & Build projects, working with major corporate, property and institutional clients across the UK and Ireland.

    Having built a strong reputation within the commercial construction and fit-out market, the business continues to grow its UK presence and is looking to strengthen its commercial team with an experienced QS who can take genuine ownership of projects.

    Projects range from smaller commercial schemes through to major £30m+ projects, giving the successful candidate exposure to a varied and technically interesting workload.

    The Role

    This is a hands-on position for a commercially strong Quantity Surveyor who can manage projects cradle to grave.

    You'll be involved from the early stages of a project, providing commercial input and estimating support, before taking responsibility through procurement, delivery, cost reporting, forecasting, final accounts and project close-out.

    We're specifically looking for someone who:

    * Knows their way around CVRs and understands how to use them to manage project performance.

    * Has experience working with fully subcontracted works.

    * Has a strong understanding of JCT Design & Build contracts.

    * Has a genuine Design & Build mentality and understands the commercial relationship between design, procurement and construction.

    * Can manage projects cradle to grave, from estimating support through to final account.

    * Is highly competent with Excel, particularly for CVRs, forecasting and financial analysis.

    * Has experience using E-evolution for commercial reporting.

    The Projects

    The business delivers a diverse portfolio of high-quality projects, including:

    * Commercial office developments and high-specification workplace environments

    * CAT A and CAT B fit-outs

    * Major commercial refurbishments and remodelling

    * Design & Build projects

    * Corporate headquarters

    * Industrial and commercial developments

    * Education projects

    * Retail and leisure environments

    * Complex refurbishment and retrofit schemes

    Project values range from approximately £1m through to £30m+, providing excellent exposure to both standalone projects and larger, more complex schemes.

    The company has worked with a number of high-profile blue-chip organisations, major property investors, developers and corporate occupiers, with a strong proportion of its work coming through repeat business and established client relationships.

    About You

    We're looking for a QS who is commercially astute, technically capable and comfortable taking ownership.

    You won't be operating purely as a reporting QS. You'll be expected to understand what is happening on your projects, challenge costs, manage subcontractors, forecast accurately and work closely with the operational and pre-construction teams to protect margins and deliver successful projects.

    Experience within commercial construction, fit-out, refurbishment or Design & Build would be particularly relevant.

    Most importantly, you'll need to have a genuine D&B mentality and be comfortable working in an environment where the QS has involvement from the early estimating stage right through to completion.

    Package

    * £60,000–£65,000 salary

    * Car allowance

    * Bonus

    * 25 days' annual leave

    * Bank holidays

    * Based from the company's UK office in Leeds

    * Exposure to projects valued up to £30m+

    * Opportunity to join a growing business with an established UK and Irish operation

    If you're an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for a role where you can have genuine commercial ownership from pre-construction through to completion, we'd be keen to hear from you
