How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

    Deliver engaging, creative, and purposeful lessons across the Year 5 curriculum.
    Plan, prepare, and assess learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
    Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
    Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
    Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and raise attainment.
    Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning, and presentation.
    Differentiate and adapt learning to ensure all pupils can access and enjoy the curriculum.
    Develop pupils' confidence, independence, resilience, and enthusiasm for learning.
    Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support positive pupil outcomes.
    Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.

    The Ideal Candidate

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 5, is desirable but not essential.
    Strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
    Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
    A passion for helping children achieve their best academically and personally.
    Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
    A reflective, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
    ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply and will receive a comprehensive induction and mentoring programme.
