How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer (minimum NVQ Level 3) to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a manufacturing site, with responsibility for electrical and mechanical fault finding, including PLC-controlled equipment.     Description

    As the Multi Skilled Engineer you will be tasked with the following:

    Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
    Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
    Troubleshoot and support automated machinery and process equipment.
    Fault-find on PLC-controlled systems and support modifications where required.
    Minimise downtime through effective problem-solving and root cause analysis.
    Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
    Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site's maintenance management system.
    Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, and environmental standards.
    Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of plant and machinery.
    Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to achieve operational targets.

    Profile

    A successful Multi Skilled Engineer should have:

    Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Maintenance Engineering, or equivalent.
    Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, processing, or industrial environment.
    Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
    Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and PLC fault diagnosis.
    Knowledge of motors, drives, inverters, sensors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
    Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
    Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
    Good communication and teamwork skills.
    Flexible attitude towards shift work and operational requirements.Desirable

    HNC/HND in Engineering.
    18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
    Experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi PLCs.
    Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or TPM experience.
    Understanding of CMMS systems.
