How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Associate Building Surveyor
    Manchester
    Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career within a global, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy.

    The Role
    As an Associate Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering high quality building surveying services to a range of clients. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from condition surveys and planned maintenance through to refurbishment, defect diagnosis and project delivery.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    Providing professional building surveying advice to clients.
    Undertaking building surveys, condition surveys and defect inspections.
    Preparing specifications, schedules of works and contract documentation.
    Managing and delivering refurbishment and maintenance projects.
    Administering building contracts and monitoring works on site.
    Preparing reports, budgets and cost estimates.
    Managing client relationships and contributing to business development.
    Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
    Taking responsibility for the successful delivery of projects, including programme, quality and commercial performance.About You
    We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor with a strong technical background and a genuine interest in developing their career within a leading consultancy.

    Ideally, you will have:

    MRICS qualification, or be close to achieving chartered status.
    Strong experience within building surveying consultancy.
    Good knowledge of building pathology, construction methods and relevant legislation.
    Experience of contract administration and project delivery.
    Strong communication and client management skills.
    The ability to manage your own workload whilst supporting and developing others.
    A commercial mindset and an interest in contributing to the wider growth of the business.What's on Offer
