How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a recent Quantity Surveying graduate/ Junior Quantity Surveyor (1-2 years exp) looking to kick-start your career with a leading construction contractor within the commercial building sector, constructing warehouses, factories, industrial building, commercial building, shopping centres, data centres etc?

    We are seeking a motivated Graduate / Junior Quantity Surveyor to join a major international and Tier 1 construction business delivering high-profile projects across the UK.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who is eager to develop their commercial skills whilst working alongside experienced industry professionals on site.

    The Role

    Working as part of an established commercial team, you will gain exposure to all aspects of quantity surveying and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle. This role is predominantly site-based, providing valuable hands-on experience on large-scale construction projects.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    Assisting with the preparation of valuations and applications for payment

    Supporting the management of subcontractor accounts and payments

    Assisting with cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs

    Helping to monitor project costs and budget performance

    Reviewing and processing subcontractor quotations and variations

    Supporting procurement activities and package management

    Assisting with contract administration and record keeping

    Attending site meetings and liaising with project stakeholders

    Supporting the preparation of final accounts

    Requirements

    BSc (Hons) Degree in Quantity

    Strong desire to build a long-term career in quantity surveying for contractors

    Excellent communication and organisational skills

    Strong numerical and analytical abilities

    Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

    Full UK driving licence preferred

    Willingness to work on site and travel as required

    UK right to work, no sponsorship offered
