How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the role

Are you an organised, proactive professional who enjoys keeping things running smoothly? We are looking for a Business Support Officer to provide high-quality administrative and operational support across JRHT’s Property Services team, helping to strengthen our services and support the delivery of our strategic priorities.

You’ll play an important role in supporting the effective delivery of repairs, maintenance, compliance and wider property services. Working across the team, you’ll ensure that systems, records and documentation are accurate, up to date and well maintained.

You’ll work with a wide range of people, including colleagues, contractors and residents, providing a responsive and professional service and helping to ensure that information is communicated clearly and requests are managed effectively. Your organisation, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities will be key to ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of Property Services.

This is a varied role where your work will make a real difference, helping our teams deliver efficient, well-coordinated services and ensuring that our residents receive a positive and responsive service.

    About you

We’re looking for an experienced and highly organised administrator to join our team in a busy operational environment. You’ll bring significant experience in an administrative, coordination or business support role, ideally within housing, property services, repairs, maintenance or a similar service environment.

You’ll have experience working with business systems, databases or service request platforms, along with the ability to manage high volumes of administrative activity, including scheduling, correspondence and coordination. You’ll be confident working with a wide range of stakeholders, including residents, contractors and internal service teams, and will have experience supporting basic financial processes such as purchase orders, invoice processing and procurement administration.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage competing priorities effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to deal professionally and positively with a diverse range of stakeholders. You’ll be competent in using Microsoft Office applications and confident in learning and adapting to new systems and processes. A strong understanding of the importance of data accuracy, confidentiality and delivering excellent customer service is also essential.

    Our core priority

JRHT strives to be a housing association that is sustainable and engaging, providing high quality and continuously improving services and decent affordable homes in well managed communities prioritising those in greatest need.

    How to apply

To apply, please complete the online application.

Closing date for applications is 18th September 2026.

Interviews will take place on either 1st or 2nd October 2026.

Please note that we will be shortlisting and interviewing on an on-going basis and reserve the right to bring the closing date forward should enough quality applications be received.

We’re at our best when we’re continually building on trust, showing we care and making a difference – and we hope others will do the same. We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming workplace, where all colleagues can be themselves.

Whilst most non-resident facing roles may be able to spend some time working remotely, there is an expectation that colleagues will attend the office regularly.

Our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Applications are welcome from all regardless of age, disability, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, religion or belief, race, sex, sexual orientation, trans status or social economic background. We offer interviews to disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria for the job. If you have a disability, please tell us if you would like to be considered for an interview under the Disability Confident Scheme
