How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Domestic Abuse Housing Advocate

    Agile Working

    £27,835.99 a year

    Full-Time

    Permanent

We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Domestic Abuse Housing Advocate to join our team and support individuals and families across North Staffordshire who are experiencing domestic abuse and homelessness.

Working in partnership with local authorities and a range of support agencies, you'll provide specialist, trauma-informed support that empowers customers to rebuild their lives, secure safe accommodation, and achieve long-term independence. This is a rewarding role where you'll make a real difference by helping people start a new chapter free from abuse.

    What you’ll do:

    * Support customers to access safe and suitable accommodation that meets their individual needs and circumstances.

    * Deliver tailored, trauma-informed and asset-based support programmes that help customers achieve their housing and personal goals.

    * Regularly assess and manage risk, monitor progress, and review outcomes to ensure support remains effective.

    * Act as an advocate for customers, helping them engage with internal and external services and access the support they need.

    * Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, support agencies, rough sleeper teams, and out-of-hours services.

    * Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, case reviews, and partnership discussions.

    Who you are:

    * Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent) with English and Maths

    * Hold a housing-related qualification (desirable)

    * Substantial experience supporting adults with complex needs, particularly those affected by domestic abuse, homelessness, or related challenges.

    * Experience delivering person-centred support that recognises individual strengths, needs and aspirations.

    * Knowledge of current domestic abuse legislation, homelessness issues, welfare reform and best practice approaches.

    * A strong understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and risk management.

    * Holds a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

This role requires a DBS check.
