How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    NEW PRODUCT SUPPORT ENGINEER JOB IN NEWTOWN.

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Support Engineer to join a well established global engineering business based in Newtown.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to develop their career in a technical customer facing environment, as well as an excellent opportunity for recent Electrical or Electronics Engineering graduates looking to gain valuable hands on experience within a global engineering organisation.

    Working closely with R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing and Technical Support teams, you will provide technical support across a global customer and partner network, while also contributing to product testing, firmware releases, field investigations and new product development.

    Responsibilities as an Product Support Engineer in Newtown.

    * Provide proactive and reactive technical support for Control Techniques products.

    * Investigate and resolve complex technical and field issues.

    * Work closely with R&D on product hardware and firmware development and testing.

    * Provide feedback to Product Management on product issues, improvements and new requirements.

    * Develop technical documentation, user guides and training materials.

    * Act as an interface between Manufacturing, Design, Product Management and the wider global support network.

    * Support conferences, exhibitions and customer visits both in the UK and internationally.

    Requirements as an Product Support Engineer in Newtown.

    * A Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent technical experience.

    * Experience providing technical or applications support within an engineering environment.

    * The ability to build productive relationships with customers, distributors and internal teams at all levels.
