How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Police Scotland is recruiting for a Talent Acquisition Advisor to play a vital role in recruiting the talented people who keep our organisation running.

    As a Talent Acquisition Advisor, you will support the end-to-end recruitment of Police Scotland Staff, partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to attract and appoint the right people to a diverse range of specialist and professional roles in business areas such as Finance, Legal, HR, Estates and Digital.

    This is a great opportunity to use your Talent Acquisition skillset and experience in a role that directly contributes to the people and services that support policing across Scotland.

    Key Responsibilities -

    * Support the Talent Acquisition Specialist by sourcing, assessing and successfully placing candidates in Police Staff roles in the organisation

    * Provide end to end recruitment process working closely with multiple hiring managers across the organisation, including advertising, direct sourcing of candidates, managing advert responses, evaluating applications as well as supporting interviews

    * Ensure effective administrative support, aiding successful delivery of the staff recruitment service across the force; ensure positive candidate experience at every stage of the recruitment process; provide line management support for a team of recruitment administrators

    Preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who demonstrate –

    * 360⁰ recruitment experience

    * Senior stakeholder liaison up to HoD level

    * Leading on recruitment campaigns

    * Providing detailed reporting from e-recruitment systems

    * Deputising for senior colleagues in their absence

    * Working closely with stakeholders to understand, shape and create effective recruitment campaigns

    * Engaging, developing and building recruitment brands

    * Training and development of colleagues on end-to-end recruitment processes

    * Maintaining recruitment applicant tracking systems

    * Tracking recruitment metrics and presenting to stakeholders

    * Building and maintaining strong relationships with hiring managers, department heads and other stakeholders

    * Current up to date knowledge of market trends, industry salary standards and competitor hiring practices

    * Current up to date knowledge of employment law legislation for all aspects of the recruitment process

    * Experience delivering stakeholder recruitment workshops and presentations
