This Data Engineer role will have the below responsibilities:
Design, maintain, and optimise the systems and database infrastructure
Working closely with a 3rd party database design consultant
Build and manage ETL processes and system integrations
Monitor database performance, security, and data integrity
Consolidate or build data flows
Ensure compliance with data governance and GDPR requirements
Conducting diagnostics tests
Collaborate with IT teams and third-party providers on database solutions
Provide technical guidance and support on database technologies
The ideal candidate for this Data Engineer vacancy will have the following attributes and exposure:
Previous career exposure as a Data Engineer is essential
Strong experience with SQL Server, MySQL, or similar relational databases
Experience building and maintaining ETL processes and data integrations
Knowledge of database performance tuning, security, and backup procedures
Understanding of data governance, GDPR, and data management best practices
Experience working with APIs and integrating multiple business systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical teams
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS would be advantageous
