How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Graduate Project Manager

    Poole, Dorset
    Specialist Construction Subcontractor

    We are recruiting for a Graduate Project Manager to join an established specialist construction subcontractor based in Poole, Dorset.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to develop a career in construction project management. You will work alongside experienced Project Managers and site teams, receiving full training while gaining hands-on experience across live construction projects.

    The role will involve supporting projects from initial planning through to completion, helping to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required standard.

    Duties will include:

    * Assisting with the planning and coordination of construction projects

    * Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams

    * Monitoring project programmes and progress

    * Assisting with procurement of materials and subcontract packages

    * Attending site meetings and project meetings

    * Helping to manage project documentation and records

    * Monitoring health and safety requirements

    * Assisting with cost control and project reporting

    * Coordinating deliveries and site requirements

    * Supporting Project Managers with day-to-day project administration

    * Helping to resolve site and programme issues

    * Ensuring works are completed in line with drawings, specifications and client requirements

    The Candidate

    The ideal candidate will have:

    * A degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline

    * A genuine interest in developing a career in project management

    * Strong organisational and communication skills

    * Good IT skills

    * A proactive and professional attitude

    * The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

    Previous construction experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

    A driving licence would be advantageous due to the requirement to visit construction sites.
