About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager / Freight Sales professional to join an established global multimodal freight forwarder based in the Folkestone/Dover area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business and developing profitable customer accounts across road, sea, air and courier freight, alongside opportunities within warehousing and customs.

This role would suit an experienced Freight Sales Executive, Freight Forwarding BDM, Business Development Manager or Logistics Sales professional with a proven track record of winning new business.

Key Responsibilities

Source new, regular and profitable road, sea, air and courier freight customers

*

Identify customers requiring warehousing and customs services

*

Identify and convert new business opportunities, clients and markets

*

Develop additional opportunities within existing customer accounts

*

Work closely with the operations team to support account management and service delivery

*

Ensure clear and profitable margins across accounts and jobs

*

Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and prospects

*

Attend face-to-face customer meetings and develop the local customer network

*

Identify opportunities to increase revenue and expand the company's customer base

Key Requirements

*

Previous freight forwarding / logistics sales experience – Essential

*

Proven success within Air, Sea or Road Freight Sales

*

Strong understanding of international freight forwarding and logistics

*

Proven ability to win new business

*

Strong commercial and negotiation skills

*

Resilient, positive and self-motivated

*

Strong communication skills, both face-to-face and over the telephone

*

Full UK driving licence
