How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Teaching & Learning Assistant

    Are you a recent graduate with a passion for education and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people?

    A thriving and inclusive school in Slough is looking for a motivated Graduate Teaching & Learning Assistant to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain valuable, hands-on experience within a school environment before pursuing a career in teaching, psychology, social work, youth work or education.

    As a Graduate Teaching & Learning Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils both academically and personally. Working alongside experienced teachers and the wider support team, you will help pupils engage with their learning, build confidence and overcome any barriers they may face in the classroom.

    The ideal candidate will be positive, approachable, patient and proactive, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people. You don't necessarily need previous school-based experience - a genuine passion for supporting children and a willingness to learn are key.

    Key Responsibilities

    Supporting pupils to engage positively with their learning and classroom activities
    Encouraging positive behaviour and helping create a focused learning environment
    Supporting pupils to understand and follow instructions from teaching staff
    Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across the school
    Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks
    Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and communication skills
    Supporting pupils who may require additional help with their learning or development
    Monitoring and recording pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
    Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider support team to ensure pupils receive appropriate supportWhy Consider This Role?
