How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Solar PV Electrician

    Location: Bromley

    Rates: Electrician £375 per PV installation | Roofer £300 per day | Additional extractor fan work available

    Hours: Monday-Friday

    Job Type: Contract

    We’re recruiting experienced Solar PV Electricians and Roofers to work on ongoing Social Housing Retrofit projects across Bromley, with additional work available in Hertfordshire.

    Our client is a well-established, family-run Plumbing, Gas & Electrical Contractor with over 40 years of combined experience, providing services across London and the South East.

    With ongoing projects available five days a week and work able to be scheduled 2–3 weeks in advance, this is an excellent opportunity for reliable subcontractors looking for consistent work.

    What You'll Be Doing – Electricians

    * Carrying out Solar PV installations using string inverters

    * Installing a small consumer unit and associated cabling

    * Installing cabling in conduit where required

    * Installing inverters, generally in gardens or loft spaces depending on access

    * Installing a smoke alarm where an inverter is installed in a loft

    * Completing electrical and PV certification

    * Uploading certificates and geotagged photographs using the required software

    * Working safely and professionally within Social Housing properties

    What You'll Be Doing – Roofers

    * Installing Solar PV panels

    * Installing bird mesh

    * Completing roofing works safely and to a high standard

    * Working alongside the electrician or as part of an electrician/roofer pair

    What We're Looking For

    * Electricians must hold a Gold Card

    * Proven Solar PV installation experience

    * Roofers with Solar PV panel installation experience

    * Experience installing bird mesh is advantageous

    * Standard public liability insurance

    * Ability to complete certification and photographic records using electronic software

    * Reliable, professional and able to work independently

    * Experience working in Social Housing or retrofit environments is preferred

    What's on Offer

    * Ongoing work available Monday-Friday

    * Generally one property per day

    * Work scheduled 2–3 weeks in advance

    * Additional earning potential through extractor fan works

    * Support setting up and using the required certification software

    * Opportunity to work as an electrician/roofer pair
