How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Due to ongoing demand, the Trust is looking for multiple Teaching Assistants to provide support across the school.

    Longer-term placements for those seeking greater consistencyYou’ll be supporting pupils both in and outside of the classroom, working alongside experienced teachers and the wider school team to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual goals.

    Your Responsibilities

    As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

    Support pupils aged 11–19 with EHCPs
    Provide support both in and outside of the classroom
    Assist teachers in delivering engaging, personalised and inclusive learning activities
    Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
    Support pupils with social, emotional, communication and learning needs
    Promote independence, confidence and personal development
    Create a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment
    Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team
    Encourage pupils to achieve their individual goalsEssential RequirementsTo be considered for these positions, you will need:

    A minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
    Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is desirable
    A patient, caring and adaptable approach
    Strong communication and teamwork skills
    A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
    The ability to provide a minimum of two years' employment and/or education references
    At least one reference must comment on your experience and interaction when working with children or young people
    An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile EducationWhy Work with Smile Education?
