Reporting into the HR team, you will provide specialist employee relations support across a range of complex casework and people initiatives, with responsibilities including:
Managing a varied caseload of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence cases
Conducting investigations into workplace concerns and preparing detailed case documentation and recommendations
Providing employee relations advice and guidance to managers in line with company policies and UK employment legislation
Supporting formal hearings and meetings, ensuring a fair, consistent and compliant approach
Acting as a key escalation point for complex employee relations queries
Advising on reasonable adjustments and coordinating occupational health referrals where required
Supporting mediation and informal resolution of workplace conflicts
Monitoring employee relations trends and producing insights to support proactive people initiatives
Assisting with the review, development and communication of HR policies and procedures
Maintaining accurate employee relations records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes
Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives across the business
Building strong relationships with stakeholders across HR and the wider organisation
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience in an Employee Relations Advisor, ER Specialist or HR Advisor role with a strong employee relations focus
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations best practice
Experience managing complex employee relations cases from investigation through to resolution
Excellent advisory, coaching and stakeholder management skills
Strong investigation, problem-solving and report-writing capabilities
Experience working within a large, complex or regulated environment
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Experience using HR systems and maintaining accurate employee records
Exposure to employee relations reporting, data analysis and trend monitoring would be advantageous
Previous experience within financial services, professional services or another regulated environment would be beneficial
