How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    As a Digital Portfolio Analyst, Reporting and Metrics, you will play an important role in helping the Department for Transport make informed decisions about its digital investments and services. Working within the Portfolio Management Hub, you will provide high-quality reporting, analysis and insight using digital software and tools that supports effective portfolio management and drives continuous improvement across the organisation.

    You will collect, analyse and interpret data relating to portfolio performance, investment outcomes, resource demand and business value. Using a range of digital reporting software, tools and techniques, you will develop dashboards, reports and visualisations that provide clear and actionable insights for senior leaders and governance boards.

    About You

    To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

    * Experience supporting the governance, assurance or delivery of portfolios, programmes or projects, with an understanding of how effective governance enables successful outcomes.

    * Ability to analyse and interpret performance, financial or portfolio data, using digital software to give insight to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

    * Experience coordinating multiple activities or competing priorities, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

    * Knowledge of portfolio, programme or project management methodologies, governance frameworks and assurance processes.

    * Ability to communicate complex information clearly and tailor messages for different audiences, including senior stakeholders.

    * Experience supporting investment planning, prioritisation, benefits realisation or portfolio reporting.

    Essential qualifications:

    You must hold at least two of the following qualifications or equivalent at the point of application:

    * GOST Foundation held, or working towards

    * Agile Project Management Foundation

    * APM Project Fundamentals Qualification

    * APM Project Management Qualification

    * PMI Project Management Professional

    * Government Contract Management Foundation qualification
