How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Residential Support Worker Children's Home, Wolverhampton

    £13.50 per hour | 40 hours per week

    Are you looking for a career where you can genuinely change young people's lives? We're looking for a Residential Support Worker to join our team in Wolverhampton, providing safe, nurturing, child-centred care to children and young people in our residential home.

    About the Role of Residential Support Worker

    As a Residential Support Worker, you'll be part of a dedicated team supporting children with a range of complex needs to build resilience, form positive relationships, and reach their full potential. Every shift is a chance to offer stability, encouragement, and positive role modelling.

    This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, paying £13.50 per hour. Being a Residential Support Worker a rewarding but responsible role, and we welcome applications from experienced practitioners as well as those new to residential childcare who can demonstrate the right values and potential. There are genuine opportunities to grow within the role, including key working, mentoring colleagues, and leading shifts.

    What You'll Be Doing as a Residential Support Worker

    Providing high-quality, child-centred care that promotes safety, stability and wellbeing
    Building positive, trusting relationships with children while maintaining professional boundaries
    Supporting children with daily routines, education, activities, health appointments and life skills
    Following care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies
    Acting as a key worker for allocated children, taking responsibility for care planning and outcomes
    Maintaining accurate, timely records and contributing to reviews
    Working collaboratively with colleagues, and leading shifts when required
    Engaging respectfully with families, social workers and other professionals
    Working towards your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already achieved) What We're Looking For

    Essential for Residential Support Worker:

    A genuine motivation to work with children and make a positive difference
    Willingness to work towards the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within two years
    Ability to build appropriate relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
    Willingness to work flexibly, including shifts, weekends and sleep-ins
    A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
    An enhanced DBS check valid for working with children (or willingness to obtain one) Desirable for Residential Support Worker:

    Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
    Experience working with children or young people in any setting
    Experience within a regulated care environment Full UK driving licence Our Values
