How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A great opportunity for a qualified Accountant to take ownership of a UK finance function within an international business, combining strong technical accounting with forecasting, reporting and commercial business partnering.

    Reporting to the UK Financial Controller, you'll lead the month-end process, manage a finance team and provide accurate financial insight to both the UK business and its US parent.

    What you'll be doing

    Lead and oversee the month-end close, including journals, reconciliations and analysis of results
    Produce monthly and quarterly reporting for the US parent company
    Own the budgeting and forecasting process
    Manage cash flow, collections and intercompany receivables
    Lead the audit process, working closely with internal and external auditors
    Oversee corporate and indirect tax compliance
    Manage and develop the finance team
    Act as a Finance Business Partner to senior commercial stakeholders
    Produce customer P&Ls, variance analysis and financial information to support tenders and projects
    Identify and implement process improvements across finance
    Provide financial guidance and training to non-finance colleagues
    Support the business with ad hoc analysis and financial requirements

    What we're looking for

    You'll be a qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant with 5+ years PQE, with experience of leading a finance team and operating in a fast-paced environment.

    You'll need:

    Strong month-end and management reporting experience
    Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills
    Solid budgeting and forecasting capability
    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
    The ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues
    A hands-on, commercially minded approach and the ability to work to tight deadlinesDesirable: experience within a SOX-controlled environment and exposure to systems such as Navision, Lawson or Hyperion.
